Hi Off-campus Grads,
I hope you are all getting settled in for another term. The bowling event
two weekends ago was well attended and everyone had fun (it was required).
Here are some upcoming events to get you out of the lab.

1. VALENTINE'S DAY CANDY-GRAMS
Send creative fun-filled messages to your friends/labmates/loved ones using
Candy-grams. All materials for making candy-grams (candy, postcards,
envelopes, glue etc.) will be provided. Come up with a creative idea of your
very own Candy-gram.
For $1 each (optional for charity), we will send these out for on-campus
delivery to the addressee. All proceeds generated from this event will go to
charity.

2. Lecture on the unfolding crisis in Somalia

3. Classical Music Concerts
The first of our concerts will be held on Sunday, February 17th, at 4:00pm
in the Edgerton Housemasters' Residence.
There will be a concert of Classical music, followed by a small dessert
reception.
The performers for this first event will be:
Jennifer Ashe, soprano
Martin Near, countertenor
Alicia DiDonato, flute
All are professionals in the Boston area.
They will be doing a variety of Classical pieces, from the Renaissance
period through very Contemporary.

4. Dinner at Six -- Free dinner with Faculty!
5:45p-7:00p TUESDAY, February 19th
W11, Small Dining Room
This monthly dinner is an opportunity to have casual conversations with many
of your favorite MIT faculty. The dinner is FREE, and runs only an hr long.
