Hi Off-Campus Grads,
Here are some upcoming events that are bound to be fun. There's still some
spaces open for tomorrow's candlepin bowling, so make sure to sign up on
Eastgate's website if you would like to join. Also, two very good dinner
options are coming up. Dinner at Six is a really nice 3 course meal (FREE) that
lasts just 1 hour and Two Dollar Dinner is a cheap way to get fed (plus FREE
adult beverages).

1) Candlepin Bowling
Sacco's Bowl Haven (Davis Square)
Saturday, April 26, 1:30pm-3:30pm

Bring your friends for an MIT exclusive party at Sacco's Bowl Haven (Davis
Square). $3 per person for bowling, shoes, and refreshments. Space is
limited, so sign up now.

This event is open to all off-campus grads and their spouses/partners and
children. Event sponsored by GSC Funding Board, Off-Campus Subcommittee, and

2) The next Ashdown-SP brunch series will be on Sunday *4/27/2008* in the
Hulsizer room at Ashdown (11:00am). It is sponsored by the graduate student
office.
There will be lots of eggs, sausages, fruits, pancakes, ice creams. Please
come and join the food with us!

4) Dinner at Six -- Free dinner with Faculty! 
5:45p–7:00p TUESDAY, May 6th 
W11, Small Dining Room 

This monthly dinner is an opportunity to have casual conversations with many
of your favorite MIT faculty. The dinner is FREE, and runs only an hr long.
RSVP to dinner-at-six at mit.edu is necessary as space is limited! RSVP by
Tuesday, April 29th!

ENJOY A RELAXED DINNER AND CONVERSATION WITH YOUR FAVORITE MIT FACULTY AND
ADMINISTRATORS OVER A DELICIOUS FREE DINNER! THIS MONTH'S GUESTS INCLUDE:

5) The next Two Dollar Dinner is Thursday, May 8th at 6:30 PM (NOT 6:00 like
previous dinners) in Morss Hall (first floor of Walker Memorial). The menu
will be a taco bar from Picante Mexican Grill as well as ADULT BEVERAGES
from the Muddy Charles Pub. Alumni have also been invited to the event for
casual socializing.

Ticket sales start at noon on Monday, April 28th, 2008 at:

Graduate students may bring up to one guest ($2 for a guest also) and may
bring their children for free (no registration for children is necessary).

Tickets are sold on a first-come, first-served basis. The name registered
for the ticket must be the name of the person using the ticket.

There will be no refunds if you cancel and/or do not show up. If you do have
to cancel, please email gsc-ac at mit.edu so your open spot can be used.

To guarantee the availability of food for people who are a little late,
attendees are not allowed to get a second serving between 6:30 and 7:00.
After 7:00, attendees can get a second serving of food.  If you arrive after
7:00 and the food is gone, you will not be given a refund.

6) Rent Monkey:  A New Off-Campus Housing Website
http://rentmonkey.mit.edu 

Rent Monkey is a new off-campus housing website that tracks rental
information provided by MIT students, for MIT students. Rent Monkey catalogs
listings and sublets as well as past rents and descriptions of residences.
It enables current off-campus students to find roommates and those on the
market to contact landlords directly instead of incurring large realtor
fees. Rent Monkey is brought to you by the Graduate Student Council and the
Off-Campus Housing Office.
