[Gsc-hca-family] [Gsc-hca-all] Cost of Living Recommendation Delivered

Friends of HCA, Excomm, and Officers,

We are happy to report that this morning the Cost of Living Team delivered
their stipend increase recommendation to a full Academic Council.

Although we are unable to share the detailed slides at this point, we
wanted to inform everyone that our recommended increase to stipend levels
was *5.23%*. This is the highest increase requested in the history of the
Cost of Living Analysis and would represent an addition of between $5 - $6
million dollars directly in the pockets of graduate students.

Please keep your fingers crossed and do check in over the coming weeks! We
look forward to reporting back to you the decision from Academic Council.

Finally, we want to thank and give special recognition to Randi Cabezas,
Javier Sanchez, and Ellan Spero for their tireless effort over the last
several months. If you see them please be sure to thank them for their
dedication to the graduate community.
