MIT's DEI at MIT Strategic Action Plan Steering Committee will be doing community engagements sessions starting in mid-March. If you are interested in giving feedback to the university's diversity, equity, and inclusion plan - please let the GSC DEI Chair know (blepe at mit.edu<mailto:blepe at mit.edu>).

Department and Classroom Inclusion
We will be hosting our first Conduit General Assembly of the semester on Thursday, March 11th from 5 - 6pm.  We highly encourage all conduits to attend this assembly event. During this assembly, we will share some DEI updates from across the institute, share and discuss DEI challenges from across departments, and discuss some upcoming projects and ideas.  We will reimburse up to $20 per person for dinner if you attend the meeting! (Note that tax will not be reimbursed).  We encourage everyone in the Boston/Cambridge area to order from POC-owned restaurants. Student Life
It’s finally happening! MIT will be having its first women’s entrepreneurship showcase on International Women’s Day (March 8th, 2021 from 6:00PM - 9:30PM EST| Virt​​ual). It will be an action packed evening showcasing amazing women-led teams who are using innovative methods to tackle huge problems (e.g.: health care, child care, and sustainability, etc). The Latinx Virtual Leadership Experience Conference will be held March 27, 2021. If you’re interested in attending and identify as LGBTQ+, LBGTQ+ Services can fund the conference ticket for you! Please email lbgt at mit.edu<mailto:lbgt at mit.edu> with your interest, and whether you’re an undergraduate or a graduate student (since there are separate funding applications for both groups).
