1 What: 2011 iCampus Prize Competition
1 When: First Round Submissions Due: February 15, 2011 by 5pm EST

- Entries must involve the use of technology to enhance life and learning at
MIT, and they must be developed to the point where MIT could adopt them
and make them part of our environment.
- Open to current graduate and undergraduate students (individuals or groups).
- Two stage competition: up to five $1,000 prizes for first-round submissions,
which require a working prototype, and one $10,000 grand prize.

2 What: Graduate Resident Tutor (GRT) Information Session
2 When: Wednesday, 01/05/11, 12-1pm
2 Where: Student Center Coffee House (W20-3rd Floor)
2 Contact: be-a-grt at mit.edu
- Residential Life Programs is seeking MIT graduate students to live in
undergraduate dorms as mentors for 2011-2012.
- GRTs receive free housing and a stipend, and play a vital role in the
MIT community.
- This optional info session is a chance to discuss the position with a
current GRT and an RLP staff member.

3 What: Graduate Student Life Grants
3 When: Application deadline = Wednesday, January 19, 2011
3 Who: Students, spouses, faculty, staff, alumni, departments, existing
student groups, and new coalitions- Anyone with an idea!

- Grants provide funding for graduate student life initiatives, anything
that builds community with the graduate student population. This can be a
single event, an ongoing series, a tool to build community - be creative.
- Previous successful grants include Weekly Wednesdays at the Muddy Charles,
Greek Cooking Class, Science Policy Bootcamp, the FamilyNet website and "An
Evening with Tom Chapin"
- Funding is for one year, with a possibility of renewal.
- Sponsored by the Office of the Dean of Graduate Education.

4 What: MIT Transportation Showcase - Call for Posters
4 When: February 24, 201, 6:00-8:30pm
4 Where: MIT Museum

-Opportunities for students, faculty, alumni, and employers interested in
transportation to connect in a relaxed environment.
-Students researching transportation-related topics are invited to submit abstracts
to present research posters.
-Please submit your research poster abstract by January 17, 2011.
-Please RSVP to have your resume included in the pool sent out to employers.
