3 What:      Innovation in the Food System: Fair Trade in the Coffee Fields

- The MIT Food and Agriculture Collaborative hosts a discussion about innovation 
   in fair trade coffee with a panel including a Santiago Paz, a Peruvian coffee cooperative 
   leader; Equal Exchange, an entrepreneurial venture that sells fairly traded coffee; 
   and MITFAC member Gustavo Setrini, Ph.D candidate in political economy of development at MIT.  
-  We’ll learn about innovative approaches to farming, field operations, market access, and business 
   that have contributed to community development in the coffee fields of Latin America.  We begin with 
   an introduction by MITFAC member Shayna Harris, with Q&A, great food, and coffee to follow.  
   Co-hosted by the MIT Food and Agriculture Collaborative, the International Development Initiative/
   Yunus Challenge 2011, the Legatum Center, Net Impact, and the Public Service Center.
