honored at an appreciation dinner in October and will receive a

during orientation and beyond.

- Meet 1 hr/month with a mentor, plus attend opening & closing events

trying to decide between academia and industry?
- 'Academia, Industry, or Both' is a panel discussion about the
advantages and disadvantages of academic jobs, versus careers in
industry, and the ability to work in both fields.
- The panel is made up of scientists and engineers who each have
extensive experience both in academia and in industry

5 What: Academic Career Series: The Nuts and Bolts of the Academic Job
Search

- The academic job market has become increasingly competitive over the
last decade. "The Nuts and Bolts of the Academic Job Search" seminar
will be a panel discussion about the strategies faculty use to secure
academic positions.
- This includes general insight into the faculty selection process,
the priorities of faculty/academic search committees compared with
industrial organizations, academic job interviewing techniques, and
how the increasingly competitive job market is changing the faculty
search process.
- The panel will be made up of academic scientists and engineers at
different stages in their careers.
