Dissertation Bootcamp is a new, experimental GSC event organized to help

environment for writing. Free drinks (including coffee) and snacks will be
provided daily.

A deposit of $20 will be collected from each participant on the first day.
This deposit will be refunded in full on the last day if the participant has
an attendance rate of at least 80%. This is purely to provide extra
motivation for participants to show up, sit down and write.

Due to space constraints, participation will be limited to 20 students.

To sign up or make enquiries, email Cheston Tan (cheston at mit.edu).

*Writing Center will be open this Summer!*

For the first time in its 26-year history, MIT's Writing and
Communication Center will be open during the summer. The new hours
are the result of special funding from Dean Steven Lerman and the
Office of the Dean for Graduate Education, Dean Deborah Fitzgerald
and the Office of Dean of School of Humanities and Social Sciences,
and Assoc. Provost Claude Canizares. The basic concept is to make the
Center's professional consultants available for graduate students
and post-docs during the summer months.

the Writing Center will be open from:
July 1-August 22, Monday through Friday,
from 10:a.m.-noon, 1:00-3:00 p.m.

Appointments will be made on the online scheduler
and there will also be the possibility of dropping in.
