*Institute Awards - Call for Nominations*

Each year, the MIT Awards Convocation and the GSC honor faculty, students,
and staff who have had an oustanding impact on the grad student experience.
We are now inviting nominations for the following awards:

* Graduate Teaching Awards

* Frank E. Perkins Award for Excellence in Graduate Advising

* Edward L. Horton Fellowship Award for Graduate Student
Community

* Irwin Sizer Award for Most Significant Improvement to MIT
Education

Nominations are due Fri, March 14.

*Two Dollar Dinner*

The next Two Dollar Dinner is Thurs, March 13th at 6pm in Morss Hall. The
menu?  Kebobs with French rolls, salad, and cookies catered from
S&S Deli + non-alcoholic drinks.

Grad students may bring up to one guest ($2 for a guest also), and may
bring their children for free (no registration for children is necessary).

*Hedge Fund Seed Opportunity*

MIT Sloan Investment Management Club presents:

What: Hedge Fund Seed Opportunity
Who: Holding Capital Group
When: Thurs Feb 28, 6-7pm (with dinner)
Where: E51-145

This initiative was introduced in '06, allowing teams of MIT grads to pitch
proprietary investment strategies to a private investment firm which has
seeded hedge fund managers for over 10 years.

-Initial funding is provided by the outside firm
-Individually, students are responsible for making arrangements
with the firm
-Students trade through the firm's accounts
