*GSC COMMITTEE CHAIR POSITIONS STILL OPEN*

The GSC committees work to address student needs in a variety of areas. Each
committee is chaired by two people and meets once per month. These committees
are the avenues by which the GSC accomplishes the majority of its mission.

*INSTITUTE COMMITTEE REPRESENTATIVES*

The GSC appoints a number of individuals to serve as representatives on various
Institute Committees. These committees are a primary mechanism for determining
MIT's policies regarding an extremely wide array of topics ranging from
academics to student life to campus construction. The GSC's representatives to
these committees are a primary mechanism for voicing the concerns of graduate
students in Institute policy decisions. GSC Institute Committee reps are
responsible for reporting relevant information back to the general council.

*ACOUSTIC BARBEQUE*

Location: Stata Center Amphitheatre
Time:  May 13 (Fri) from 4:30pm till sunset

Featuring:
- free food (fingerfood and grilled food)
- free alcohol (beer from the muddy)
- live bands
- raffle prizes (like mini iPods and gift certificates)

We are looking for motivated people to help out.  If you like to grill, make
posters or decorate, please contact gsc-ac-chairs at mit.edu for more information
on how you can get involved.
