*GSC Nomination*
Nominations are now open for the GSC Officer positions for the academic year
2005-2006!
Candidates who are nominated and accepts the nomination have till 5:00 pm on
the second day after accepting the nomination to submit to the GSC Vice
President, their statement of purpose. An up-to-date list of candidates is
posted at *http://gsc.mit.edu/elections/*. Election of the 2005-2006 Officers
of the Graduate Student Council (GSC) will take place at the April General
Council Meeting.
If you're interested in running for a GSC Officer position, or would like to
nominate someone, please contact a GSC council representative. For a list of
current GSC reps, visit *http://gsc.mit.edu/representatives*. Nominations will
remain open until 5:00 pm on March 30th, 2005. (one week before the April
GCM).

*GSC Tax workshop*
(intended towards US citizens and permanent residents)
Workshops will be held on Apr 2 and Apr 10, 2005 from 10am-5pm(walk-ins) in
Sidney-Pacific Dormatory.

*2005 Institute Awards Nomination*
The Institute Awards Convocation honors faculty, staff, students and student
groups who have made special contributions to life and community at MIT. Each
year, the Graduate Student Council gives input in the decision-making process
of four Institute Awards, to be presented at the Institute Awards Convocation
in May. Nomination of students and faculty for these awards offer a unique
opportunity to honor these individuals for their invaluable contributions to
graduate students and to thank them for their efforts.
Nominations can take the form of individual nomination letters in support of a
group or individual, or a master nomination letter followed by a signature page
with the signatures of those supporting the nomination. Nomination letters can
be sent to the Awards Committee (W20-549) or emailed to awards at mit.edu.
Nominations are now being accepted for over thirty awards. Deadline for
