1. Join Funding Board
Call for nominations for the graduate student at large representative to
the GSC Funding Board:
The GSC Funding Board is a six member panel that is responsible for
allocating a $100k annual budget to support graduate student groups in a
variety of ways. One member of Funding Board is a graduate student at
large representative, who is appointed by the Council. The graduate
student that fills this position does NOT have to be a GSC representative.
Duties of the at large rep to the Funding Board:
1) The at large rep must be able to make the Funding Board meetings, which
meets a minimum of eight times annually.
2) As with the other members of the Funding Board, the at large rep must
be fair, and be able to judge student group requests on their merit.
3) Duties related to the acquisition of capital equipment that the GSC
will make available to student groups.
Nominations for this position are now open, and can be sent to
gsc-treasurer at mit.edu
2. Help Incoming International Students
GSC's Academic Research and Careers committee is looking for 1-2 direcotor(s)
for the award winning Airport Shuttle program. The director(s) of the program
will achieve the following skills:
-- program planning and execution
-- organization & management
-- group leadership
-- working with various departments/offices/ISO
If interested, or want to learn more about the program, please contact
gsc-arc at mit.edu
3. Become a Mentor for First Year Grad. Students
Want to help new incoming international graduate students transition at MIT?
GSC's Academic Research and Careers committee is looking for a chair-person for
the International Graduate Student Mentorship program. This is a great way to
have a good, long lasting impact and recognition among the incoming graduate
students. If you are interested or need more information, please contact

better understanding
of the MIT community's views on the Muddy Charles Pub. Every survey
respondent that includes
their email address will be entered into a drawing for $100 in Amazon.com
