Hello all,
Suddenly it's August 1st!
I hope that you are all having good times and/or going to good places this
summer. On such hot days as these, I know it's hard to visualize pumpkin
weather, but, in fact, the MIT Great Glass Pumpkin Patch is just a little
less than 8 weeks away at this point.

This year's pumpkin patch sale will be on *Saturday, September 28th *from
10AM to 3PM, in Kresge Oval.
The preview opening (no sales) will be on* Friday, September 27th f*rom
5-8PM.

A quick summary of the sale and volunteer needs. The sale really starts on
*Friday* morning early, with volunteers shuttling pumpkins out to the tent
on the Oval, unwrapping a year's worth of new pumpkins, and pricing them
for the sale.
We also need volunteers to attend the opening, and, importantly, to guard
the pumpkins in two overnight shifts - 8PM-1AM and 1-6AM.
*On Saturday*, volunteers arrive as early as 6AM to prep the tent and put
pumpkins on the lawn in time for a 10AM start. Then there's the sale, from
10AM to 3PM with all its various roles for people to play, followed by a
cleanup so that we make sure to leave the tent as we found it and not incur
the displeasure of Campus Activities.

Mostly this is a save the date message, but at this time I will start
compiling a roster and schedule of volunteers for the fall sale. We'd love
to see you return, this time maybe with a friend! If you know you are
planning to attend the sale as a volunteer and want to have a particular
job, I'm ready to schedule you in.

I'll send out more specifics later in August. If you have any questions
now, please feel free to ask.

Happy rest of your summer,
Peter
