Hello all MIT Great Glass Pumpkin Patch volunteers and other interested
parties,
We are now one week away from the sale and this will be the last mass email
I send out to volunteers and others before the event. Here are a few
additional details that may be of interest to volunteers.

*Friday*
*Getting inventory to the Oval.* There is a whole lot to do Friday morning,
the morning of the preview opening. We have to get all the pumpkins out of
storage, bring them to Kresge Oval, set up the tables for the opening
display, and unpack them all so that the pricing team can affix prices to
what will be well over 1000 pumpkins. The sooner we can get pumpkins out
onto the Oval, out of boxes, and onto the tables, the less hectic the
pricing job will be. We'll start by 8:30AM at the latest, and we'll shoot
to have all the pumpkins out on tables no later than 11AM. *We can use all
the help we can get during this interval between 8:30-11AM.*
*The Preview opening.* At the 5-8PM preview opening, it always helps to
have current Glass Lab staff and repeat volunteers around to answer
questions. So even if the preview is the only time you can make it next
weekend, your presence will be appreciated.
*The overnight shift.* If you have volunteered to be on one of the two
overnight shifts please confirm with me that you can still do this. So far
I have for *8PM-1AM*: Yiran He, Cindy Schatz, Sally Richter, and for *1-6AM*
Phoophie Chavez and Margaret Wang. If I forgot anybody, please ping me.

*Saturday*
I will arrive at 6AM sharp (this is not a typo) and start handing out line
placeholder tickets to the early bird crowd. We will start taking sides off
the tent, staking the sale perimeter, putting out pumpkins on the lawn,
etc. Any help at this early hour is greatly appreciated.
If you are a volunteer and planning to shop for pumpkins, *you must arrive
by 8:30AM at the very latest *so that you have time to shop as well as help
us set up before the line starts to get serious. And if you are a
shopper/volunteer, please also plan to stay at least until the rush is
over, usually around 1:00PM.
In any case, if you are a Saturday volunteer, and especially if you are a
new volunteer, please arrive no later than 9AM so that I can assign you a
job before the mayhem starts.
And, finally, a huge *THANK YOU* to all of you who make this event possible
by being so generous with your time and for your willingness to help our
fundraising effort.
Any questions, please email me directly, and see you all soon!
Peter
