Hello all,
Usually by this time of year we are gearing up for the big pumpkin sale on
Kresge Oval, taking care of very many last-minute details, communicating
with many loyal volunteers, and watching the weather with a certain amount
of anxiety and hopefulness.
Well, I'm sure it's no surprise - and some of you know this already - that
we won't be doing our usual MIT Great Glass Pumpkin Patch on Kresge Oval.
All those pumpkins and people packed together, it's such a blast!... and so
totally *not* what we are able to do right now.
...BUT... we *are *going to do an *online pumpkin sale* with the inventory
we were able to produce between last October and March, when we had to shut
the furnace down. The sale will be in late October, closer to Halloween.
Details will be posted soon on our website <http://web.mit.edu/glasslab>,
so keep your eyes peeled.
We're going to try to do everything in our power to make this a fun
experience for people. Among other ideas, we're thinking of releasing the
pumpkins in rolling batches over several days so that people don't feel
pressured to "line up" and anxiety-shop all at one time.
Got a good idea about how to make the sale more fun and amusing? Let me
know.
Details to follow soon.
Wishing you all happiness and health,
Peter
