Dear fans of glass and the MIT Glass Lab,
As many of you know, Venetian master Lino Tagliapietra has visited MIT
several times over the last few years, and this May he will be returning
for the first time since the Glass Lab has been renovated. Team
Tagliapietra will be working in the Glass Lab from Monday May 16, through
Friday, May 20.
Because space in the Glass Lab is so limited, we will be unable to admit
the general public into the space during the week, but we *will *be
live-streaming. Links to the webcams will soon be posted on the Glass Lab's
website web.mit.edu/glasslab.
Another exciting bit of news is that the Schantz Galleries has found a
space on Newbury Street in which to have a show of new work by Lino, and
this show will be up during his visit. Attached is a press release with
details. The public opening for this show will be on Saturday, May 14. This
will be a good time to meet Lino and see the fruits of his recent labors.
Happy Spring,
Peter
