Subject: 2007 Great Glass Pumpkin Patch

Hello friends of the Glass Lab,
This is a follow-up of an e-mail I sent out a few weeks ago sending
out a call for volunteers for the Seventh Annual MIT Great Glass
Pumpkin Patch.

Our event will be very much like it was last year in terms of how it
is set up and the number of volunteers we will need to make the event
go smoothly on Friday, October 5 (setup, pricing, and opening) and
Saturday the 6th (sale day).

Friday 10/5 8:00 AM: volunteers meet at the Glass Lab (4-003) and
transport pumpkins out to Kresge Oval using carts and two-wheelers.

Friday 10:00 - 5:00: Volunteers set up tables under tent, unpack
pumpkins, price pumpkins in preparation for opening 5-8PM.

Friday overnight: Volunteers socialize and also guard pumpkins
.
Saturday 10/6 7:00 AM: Volunteers take all pumpkins off of tables and
put them on the Oval, reconfigure tables into battle (sale) positions,
tear up bubble wrap, etc, etc.

Saturday 9:00 AM: Pep talk is given by Peter, and unassigned
volunteers are given assignments.

Saturday 10:00 - 3:00: The Sale.

Saturday 3:00 - 5:00: cleanup.

So these are the times and jobs for which we'll need volunteers. The
really key time is Saturday during the sale. If you plan to be a
volunteer at the sale, PLEASE plan on being at the Oval no later than
8:30 or 8:45 AM on Saturday so that you can be assigned to a team.

At this point I have heard from +/- 20 people (thanks to you), but now
I need to hear from EVERYONE who is planning to volunteer for any of
the above times, so that I can be sure we have no personnel holes. So
even if you have already contacted me, please write again to confirm
when you will be coming.

And Glass Lab inner circle (students, instructors, monitors): please
do not assume that I know you will be coming to volunteer at the
event. Please take the time to sit down and formally tell me that you
will be coming, and when, so that I can make a master list. Thanks,
everyone. I'm looking forward to another successful and eventful
Pumpkin Patch, and I hope you are, too. Peter
