Dear IAP glass blowing candidates,
This IAP the Glass Lab will offer a four week introductory glass blowing
class that is open to freshmen only. Because of the popularity of this class
and the limited room we have, we must hold a lottery to determine who will be
in the class. The lottery process is very simple: everybody writes their name
on a note card, throws it into a box, and we pick out the first 16 names to
make up a class.
We are still in the process of arranging a time and place for the IAP
glass blowing lottery. Because of the fact that IAP starts relatively late this
year (January 9), we will be holding the lottery some time in the second week
of January, probably on the 11th, at 7:00 PM. Classes will be on fridays for
two hours and start on friday the 13th, and there will be four, including the
last one on February 3. The practice sessions (also four two hour sessions for
each student), will run until February 9.
The lottery is usually in room 6-120. As soon as we have pinpointed the
date, we will post it on the glass lab website [web.mit.edu/glasslab].
You MUST show up in person for the lottery in order to be eligible to
participate. No proxies are allowed.
Stay tuned to the website for details.
     See you at the lottery!
