I highly recommend anyone interested in mobile or social gaming to come to this info session. GREE is a big player in the Japanese market and is becoming a major player in the US and Europe as well (especially on Android devices).

We would love to meet you in person while we are in town!

1 My/GREE's background ・・・ Start-up -> Square-Enix -> GREE

As I said, my name is Arun Mehta, I graduated from MIT as an Undergraduate in 2001. After running my own start-up in Boston for 7 years, I moved to Japan in 2010 to work at videogame developer Square-Enix (makers of the Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest series). A little over 1 year ago, I started getting really excited about the fastest growing company in Japan right now, the mobile social-gaming company called GREE -- I joined them in August 2011 as a software Engineer.

Social Network:
GREE (from "six-deGREEs-of-separation") was started as a Social Network side-project in December 2004 by Yoshikazu Tanaka (an Engineer himself), but due to the instant popularity of the service he had to quit his job to develop GREE full-time as an Internet venture. Today we provide our own mobile games on top of our Social Application Platform (with 240M global users and growing) and we publish 3rd party games from companies like Ubisoft, Capcom, Konami, E.A. on our platform as well.

Fast Growing, Global, and poised to be an Internet giant:
In the last 24 months GREE has experienced year-over-year revenue growth of 169% and expanded from 150 people in one Tokyo office to 2,000 employees in 11 locations around the world, including: San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Vancouver, London, Amsterdam, Dubai, Singapore, Beijing, Seoul, and Osaka (with our HQ still in Tokyo). Our quarterly net revenue has now reached $510M, of which 51% is pure operating profit! The links below or a quick Google search can fill in the rest of our story:

2 Who we are looking for ・・・ Engineering/ Product Management/ Business Positions

Hiring for Tokyo Head-Quarters:
We are looking for Undergraduate or Masters MIT students excited to work in our Tokyo HQ with special talents in Software Engineering, Product Management, and/or Business.

Positions for fresh graduates:
Please check out our temporary recruiting website for more information about GREE employees, and positions, which we will cover more during the information session on Thursday September 20th: http://gree.jp/r/39027/1?guid=ON

Global talents and working environment:
In addition to working and growing alongside a talented group of peers (we are pulling talent away from Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc.), we also offer an employee stock ownership plan, subsidize your housing (Tokyo rent is not cheap!), provide an allowance for buying new personal mobile devices as well as monthly service plans, and much, much more.
