Greetings (again) from Blizzard’s University Relations Team!

Many of you received our team’s first email blast a couple of months ago. Welcome to all of those who have been added to the distribution list since the first email! We developed this email list to make sure our university contacts have the most current information on Blizzard’s University Relations program.

We have exciting news to share regarding the internship program, university relations website, and more! We appreciate being able to partner with you to get this information out to all of your students interested in video game development careers.

/updates:

•         Summer 2012 internships are now live (ur.blizzard.com)! Many exciting opportunities – programming, writing, design, art/animation, production, and more! Some fast facts:
o   All applications should be submitted online, and the deadline to apply is January 31, 2012.
o   Due to the volume of applications we have to handle, please do not have students reach out to us directly for their application status. They will be notified by May (or potentially earlier) if we wish to move forward with their application.

•         We’ve joined forces with World of Warcraft’s art team to present Blizzard’s first Student Art Contest! For more information, direct your talented art students to our University Relations webpage (ur.blizzard.com).

•         We’ve made some exciting updates to the University Relations webpage (ur.blizzard.com), including sample entry-level job descriptions so students can see what skills are commonly needed. More content to come later this year!

•         We’d like to encourage everyone to follow our Talent Acquisition team on Twitter<http://twitter.com/#!/blizzardcareers>. In addition to sharing updates on fulltime positions, we also promote appearances by the University Relations team, and answer direct questions from followers when possible.

About us:

Blizzard’s University Relations team consists of Sumer Faubert (Global Programs Manager, Talent Acquisition) and Cat Kocher (Senior Internship Specialist, University Relations).  A note for our longtime contacts -- Sumer Ortiz’s name has changed to Sumer Faubert. Not to worry though, any emails sent to her old email address will continue to reach her.
