Hi folks. If you're still looking for a code-intensive summer UROP with some
game development, check out the Media Lab's job posting below.

The Personal Robots Group in the MIT Media Lab is looking for an excited and
talented student to help them develop a robotic simulator and online gaming
environment. This environment will be used to test different simulations of
robotic behavior especially in the domain of group behaviors and mental
inference. The environment will be a 3D world populated with agents, some
(sometimes all) of whom will be controlled using AI and others that are
controlled by humans - possibly playing the game from their home computers.

The platform we will be using is the Java Monkey Engine (
http://jmonkeyengine.com/) so the language we will be using to write the
game logic and higher level mechanisms will be Java.

Required:
 - An enthusiasm for robotics and AI
 - Comfortable with writing Java code
 - Comfortable with creating and rigging 3D models (can be learned along the
way)

Not required but appreciated:
 - Game development experience
 - Understanding of 3D rendering (OpenGL, shaders, scenegraphs etc.)
 - Appreciation for efficient algoritms and real-time computing
 - Experience with C++ and Python
 - Gaming experience
