GAMBIT is looking for Student PRODUCERS for our Summer Game Development UROP Program!

-- This application is for PRODUCERS only --

Application deadline is Sunday, February 20th.

GAMBIT's Summer Program is a nine week, full time, intensive game development experience. Students from Singapore join students from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and other New England colleges to create video games at the Singapore-MIT GAMBIT Game Lab, in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Development teams are composed entirely of student interns, who are responsible for all aspects of the project -- from production to programming, game design and art, music and sound, and of course, thorough testing to create a robust, engaging game.

Teams are led by a producer -- also an intern -- and are jointly responsible for scoping, scheduling, and planning the project to fit within the summer program, while still meeting the project's internal requirements. For many, this is a unique chance to work on multi-disciplinary teams -- interns with different creative talents and skills learn how to work together, as programmers, artists, audio designers, game designers, testers and producers.

More information about the program is here:
http://gambit.mit.edu/joingame/#summer

The dates for this Summer's program are June 6 through August 5, 2011 (along with a 2-3 day orientation in the first week of June).
This is a full-time, 40-hour/week position.

ELIGIBILITY

The applicant must be eligible for an MIT UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunity). See this site for details: http://web.mit.edu/urop/basicinfo/elig.html

Previous UROPs who have worked with us in other capacities (design, art, programming, QA) but interested in applying for a Producer position are required (and encouraged!) to take this test. We will send out notification for other positions as they are made available.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

For our program, Producers are responsible for:
- creating and organizing their team’s task lists; assisting with task and team scheduling.
- tracking overall team progress, noticing and dealing with schedule overruns, and keeping the team together and on target.
- team morale and spirit.

Application deadline is Sunday, February 20th.
