Hello all,

Reprising last year, I'm planning on participating in the MIT
Mystery Hunt. It starts at 12:17 this Friday (the 14th), and we're
hosting "Team Unseen GAMBIT" in the GAMBIT lab. You are welcome to join in
the puzzle-solving!

The Mystery Hunt is a collection of very hard puzzles, kind of like
Games Magazine on steroids, with people ganging up to solve each
puzzle. If you like creative puzzle solving with cool people, you
might like the Mystery Hunt. There is a large variety to the puzzles-
trivia, logic, location-based, wordplay, etc.

"Team Unseen" (mostly non-GAMBIT folks) is a very friendly and
welcoming bunch. In honor of our hosting them this year, they've
added "GAMBIT" to their team name. As part of that arrangement,
GAMBIT folks are welcome to join in the fun.

The Hunt will go all hours until some time on Sunday, with people
coming and going. So feel free to stop by for a bit during the weekend, too.
Bring a friend. When you get here, ask someone where you can find
puzzles, and how you can help.

RSVP's are not necessary, but if you are pretty sure you want to
puzzle, it'd be nice to have a head count to give to the Team Unseen
organizers.

If don't have a purple card, you may need to call the lab to get
into the building after Friday's business hours. I'll send that phone
# out before Friday. Or, if you make it in on Friday, Rik might have
a spare temp card.

 Cheers,
      -Andrew

P.S. http://www.mit.edu/~puzzle/ You can check out the archives
if you are curious about the puzzles. They all look wicked hard and
inscrutable.... But that's why the team is large. There's usually a
combination of logic and trivia. You may know nothing about French
cooking, but might have seen all the obscure movies, and both might be
required to figure out a particular puzzle.
