Dear Friends of the Arts,
Happy spring break! The Boston Ballet are currently dancing "The Sleeping
Beauty" to Tchaikovsky's music and Marius Petipa's choreography (1890). It
will be a revival of Dame Ninette de Valois's production for the Royal
Ballet (1977-1992), with the original sets and costumes. The Boston
Ballet's 2009 performance was praised by the New York Times for its
"painstaking precision" and "that warm squeeze of the heart" arising from
"the innumerable threads of its vast tapestry." It should be a great
spectacle!
Let us attend the performance on *Wednesday, April 3*, at *7:30pm*, at the
Boston Opera House (539 Washington St, Boston, MA 02111). If at least ten
of us sign up, then we will enjoy a group discount from the Ballet and an
additional subsidy from the Friends. We will offer section A tickets
(usually $104) for $45, and section B tickets (usually $74) for $30.
Student rush tickets may also be available for $20 two hours before the
performance, but we won't be handling them.
*Please sign up here* by *noon this Friday, March 29,* if you would like to
attend:

I will also ask you to confirm by email.
We will likely also have dinner beforehand at a restaurant close to the
venue. All this is contingent on having a group of at least ten.
Hope to see you soon!
