[fair-data-stewardship] cyverse foundational open science skills (FOSS) course

I have not developed one-pagers for {A,I,R} yet, but I plan to.

The FAIR-Aware tool seems a bit more abstract, focused on concept awareness rather than on helping a researcher evaluate a particular dataset. However, I would be very interested to see anonymized results of their feedback section, in particular to know which of the 10 check-boxed issues people report as hard to understand/answer. I'll email <fair-aware at dans.knaw.nl> and ask them.

I didn't know about <https://fairassist.org/ <https://fairassist.org/#!/>>. What a nice resource.

The thing I like about the ARDC tool as a tool for manual self-assessment is the technique of presenting an ordering of options and having people select the option closest to their current state. It seems harder to say "yes" or "no" sometimes, but to be able to see a qualitative and finite spectrum of options and see where your dataset lives, that seems helpful.

Thanks also for that "A FAIR and AI-ready Higgs Boson Decay Dataset" report. It seems their approach is to "pass" or "partially pass" a set of metrics, which seems geared more towards grading than towards highlighting particular gaps for improvement (the ARDC tool approach).
