Dear Colleague:
The Center for Global Change Science, the Department of Earth,
Atmospheric and Planetary Sciences (EAPS), and the Department of
Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, cordially invites you to attend the Eighth
Annual Henry W. Kendall Memorial Lecture entitled:
"Global and Regional Climate Change:
Underlying Science and Emerging Riddles"
Presented by Professor Veerabhadran Ramanathan
Distinguished Professor of Climate and Atmospheric Sciences
Director, Center for Clouds, Chemistry, and Climate (C4)
Chair, Committee on Strategic Advice on the US Climate Chance
Science Program (CCSP)
Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO)
University of California, San Diego (UCSD)
The lecture will be given on Friday, May 2, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in the
Kirsch Auditorium, Ray and Maria Stata Center, Building 32, Room 123.
A reception will held immediately following the lecture in the Ida M.
Green Room, Building 54, Room 923, 9th floor. All are cordially
invited.

Henry Kendall was a Nobel Laureate in Physics and an MIT Professor
with a deep commitment to understanding and finding solutions to the
multiple environmental problems facing the world today and in the
future. The permanently endowed Kendall Lecture allows MIT faculty
and students to be introduced to forefront areas in global change
science by leading researchers.
