Underground (in-situ) Coal Gasification

      Underground coal gasification can be applied to non-minable or 
non-mined coal seams to produce syn-gas for power generation or for 
petrochemical and fuels production.  The status of the technology and 
recent activities and progress are discussed.  Current status of a 
project in Chinchilla, Australia is described.
