With oil priced at or near record highs, conversion of coal to liquid 
fuels is again receiving much attention.  This presentation looks at 
the conversion of coal to liquid fuels by direct and indirect routes. 
It builds on the Sasol experience with coal to liquid fuels and 
assesses the current perspective for producing coal-based liquids for 
the transportation sector.
