Nokia Research Center Cambridge, Software Component Composition Project,
Summer Intern - Posted 4/4/06

We are looking for a summer intern to work at Nokia Research Center
Cambridge (in collaboration with MIT researchers) on a software
component composition project.

Combination of web services and other software components makes it
possible to build rich new applications that integrate these
components, going far beyond the original intent of any one component
provider. Although our focus is mobile devices, these applications
could run on a desktop computer or other platforms. The applications
can be created by skilled programmers, or composed by end users.

Today, software component integration is difficult. It is hard to
discover components that are compatible with one another, and if
incompatibilities exist, it is hard to know how to transform the data
to make it compatible. Our goal is to simplify such programming, by
automatically identifying how software components can be combined.
Different aspects of the project can focus on different scenarios
(computers vs. cell phones, programmers vs. end users, software
libraries vs. web services).

Programming experience in C++, Java or Python is required. If
interested, send a resume, grade report, code and writing samples, and
times you are available for an interview to Raimondas Lencevicius
