On Twitter, you go to Settings > Design > Theme color.  The "Theme Color" is what color your links will be.

btw, I sent along this feedback my colleague who set up the Twitter account and he reports that we didn't choose that invisible text color, it defaulted to it. He, too, is annoyed by it and has been trying to figure out how to fix it.  So if anyone has suggestions, let me know...

I agree with Cate, I think you may be referencing HUBweek.
MIT's "Solve" (Oct 5-8, 2015) will be a "spoke event" of Cambridge's HUBweek.
