COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) (part-time, approximately 17.5 hrs/wk.), to provide writing, social media and e-mail marketing support for the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at MIT. Will work with Administrative Officer to help develop, maintain, and expand social media programs on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and other platforms. Will also work on related communications tasks including the creation of weekly and monthly e-newsletters; administering and managing day-to-day activities of the CEE social media presence; researching and writing content for digital media posts; scheduling, compiling, coding, and distributing e-newsletters; managing email lists and Constant Contact account.
REQUIRED: at least 2 years of direct/related experience; fluency with social media practices and platforms including Facebook and Twitter; proven proficiency in communication strategies and excellent interpersonal and verbal and written communications skills. Flexibility is required as the job may need early morning, evening, and/or weekend work hours. Advanced computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Google Analytics preferred. Proven ability to work somewhat independently. Bachelor's degree in communications or related field preferred. (Schedule to be determined.)
This is a six month term position with possibility of extension.
