[Editors] My FB Inquiry

Hi, Gayle —

You mention being handed email addresses and passwords, but that usually isn't a step involved in promoting someone to page administrator. Do you mean that you have a business account separate from your personal account, and are using that to administer a page? Maybe providing us with a link to the page you're administering would help?

Subject: [Editors] FW: My FB Inquiry

Hi Editors!
I recently took over the administration of a business Facebook page. The e-mail addressees and passwords were passed on to me by my predecessor. So far, I've been administering the page, which has a few other pages under it relating to various wings of our program. However, I don't find an option to look up friends or other external pages, or import contacts, but rather just have to wait untill others see and like my page so I can have the opportunity to see and like anything posted in the feed.

Is there a difference between these kind of organization/business pages, and ones that start as a person, who then creates page and can invite all friends to like or join? As I didn't create these pages, I'm very frustrated about finding their root and need some help with managing it and using it the the best productivity in communicating the mission of my organization. Right now, all I can do is post and like stuff, but I can't target any individual or mention anyone in any post, or even find other cool pages to like and post to, which I can do as an individual through my own personal FB account. When I ask the general FB help desk q/a section, it tells me that I'm in the "grey" and that I must do my login (as a person I presume) before posting the question. Of course, this is the very issue I'm facing: How do I get "un-grey"?
Thanks so much for your help!
Cheers,
Gayle
