[Editors] LinkedIn for Journalists

Hi Ken,
I joined - she rebooted soon after you left and it was fine for a while - we learned about stealth mode and finding contacts - but then it went downhill again. She ended at 11:35 with a promise for a smaller and easier tutorial on March 11th.

Thanks,
Melanie

Did anyone else try joining this meeting this morning?

The presenter was using WebEx, and anyone who dialed into the screencast had their audio enabled by default. I spent the first 22 minutes listening to the presenter shouting over the sounds of typing, traffic, and feedback to "Please mute your phones!!" before giving up.

I don't know if that was a limitation of WebEx, or the LinkedIn presenter's configuration of it, but I'm baffled why they didn't anticipate this might be an issue for a webcast attended by 200 people. They do this every year... Google Hangouts on Air might be a better tool for the occasion.

-Ken

Afterward, you'll receive a one-year free upgrade to LinkedIn Premium - a minimum $240 value. Details below.
