We worked with 43,000 Feet for our communications about the Course XV Centennial this year and had a very good experience with them, although it was more short, punchy, marketing stuff than a longer-form assignment.

I can also strongly recommend Jill Maxwell, who was a colleague of mine at Inc. Magazine and who has worked as a freelance writer for both our office and the MIT Alumni Association and has done a fair bit of science writing.
