MIT EDITORS' CLUB
*Meeting Notes from December 10, 2014*
*Relaxing Freebie*
As Regular Readers of these minutes know well, I enjoy sharing with this group the range of freebies or discounts available to us as MIT employees. Here's one that could come in handy over the holidays: MIT has a "sleep and relaxation line" that you can call to get a three-minute guided meditation. Call 3-CALM. The recording can also be downloaded in MP3.
Here are all of the stress reduction resources available through MIT Medical:

And here are all of Medical's MP3s related to stress reduction:

Also related to MIT Medical: Ken Gagne, the webmaster there, notes that the department will have a new web site launching this coming Monday. It's been a few years in the making, so be sure to check it out at medical.mit.edu<http://medical.mit.edu>
*Aerial Pics are Up*
Just a reminder that Communication Production Services (CPS) recently used a drone (a DJI S1000 Flying Wings octocopter) to capture aerial photographs and video of the MIT campus. The results are available free to members of the MIT community, and they're really cool. To see the photos, go to https://www.flickr.com/photos/cpsphotolibrary/sets. The video should be available within the next month or so.
As Stephanie Leishman of CPS pointed out, the CPS photo library is not only free, it also takes care of all photo permissions for you. Also check it out for additional images optimized for social media.
*CPS Workshops*
Stephanie is looking for suggestions on what people wold like to see for future CPS workshops. Immediately two hands went up asking for another round of the most recent workshop, Best of MIT: Social Media Case Studies. If you have ideas for Stephanie, send her a note at hatch_s at MIT.EDU<mailto:hatch_s at MIT.EDU>
*Privacy Concerns*
Ken Gagne told us about a piece he wrote for Computerworld recently about how to remove your personal info from data brokers. To see the piece, go to:

*MIT Acronyms*
Editors at this meeting came from RD, UPOP, MITEI, GECD and….many other acronyms. That reminded us of the MIT acronyms wiki that members of MIT Editors' Club should find useful:
Acronyms, abbreviations and lingo used at MIT

*Next Meetings*
I'll send out next year's schedule when it's ready.
Happy Holidays, Everybody
