Dear all:

Latest from IS&T (Dave Conlon) on Creative Cloud volume license status:

We are, indeed, talking with Adobe about what a site license for Adobe CC might look like here on campus. These discussions are in the very early stages and we have been waiting on an initial estimate from Adobe for a while now. (Hopefully we will receive it by this Friday, but this would be a rough estimate and initial jumping off point for feasibility/negotiations)

That being said, we are a long way off from having a decision on Adobe CC here on campus, meaning we don’t know if there will be a campus-wide CC option let alone what form that may take or how it may be funded.

In the near term, DLCs are able to continue to purchase CS6 via gov connection or individuals can sign up for Adobe CC with academic pricing as you have done.

If you need to upgrade sooner rather than later, Adobe is offering a first year academic intro price of $19.99 that you might consider. Be aware that you'll have some fussing to do as they will require you to send the proof of academic status (and they won't accept an MIT ID as they're not dated -they will take an copy of your electronic pay stub, which I did, Photoshop-blurring all the stuff I didn't want them to see) and, separately, proof of MIT tax-exempt status (pdf available on MIT web).

I'll keep you informed as I learn more.

Best,
Bill
