The Alumni Association is looking for a social media community manager. It's a great opportunity for the right person.

SOCIAL MEDIA COMMUNITY MANAGER, Alumni Association, to strategically build long-term and visionary social media program for the Alumni Association. Will serve as a strategist in developing an online presence to proactively engage alumni in order to build community; conceptualize, develop, implement, and maintain a social media program and presence that will captivate and engage alumni on a daily basis; interact with alumni to engage experts, promote analyze new trends, and make revisions based on qualitative and quantitative data findings; create unique social media content in a variety of formats; employ creative tactics to compile compelling content from institutional stakeholders; identify interesting MIT user-generated content; create and maintain a robust publishing plan and content distribution network; and institute workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content.

REQUIREMENTS: a bachelor's degree; at least five years' work experience in a fast-paced, professional office; at least two years' experience in social media, communications, online marketing, editing, or related position; demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media with a professional online presence; excellent writing skills and ability to produce volumes of editorial and technical writing; ability to map out and drive a marketing strategy and measure success through testing and metrics; functional knowledge of and some experience with HTML/CSS; experience with Google Analytics or similar tools; knowledge of search engine optimization; and insight into naming and tagging best practices. Seek technically savvy individual who is well versed in MS Office and eager to learn new technologies, extremely proficient with popular social media software and emerging apps, and able to actively participate in and commit to blogging and using Facebook.
