[Editors] mass mailing question

+1 on MailChimp. We've used it for almost four years. (I'd be happy to walk curious people through it…there are a few pitfalls to avoid, not of MailChimp specifically but of mass emailing in general.)

And for anyone considering MailChimp as part of conference promotion, consider also using Eventbrite later on for registration, as the two have a feature that helps them work together.
