[Editors] Fwd: Letter from Boston mayor to MIT r/e SNOW

1948 was, indeed, a terrible year for storms in Boston - and the worst was yet to come less than a month after Curley wrote his letter - Valentine's Day, I believe. Some years ago I wrote an article about this. Snowplow trucks were much smaller and lighter than those of today and, of course, snowblowers were unheard of. To fight fires, the city of Boston activated some fire sleighs they still had in storage and pulled them with horses recruited from milk delivery companies who still doing some deliveries with horsepower.
