Hey everybody,

Its been a busy week for the Global Challenge – Kate’s been doing a yeoman’s work holding things together! Wanted to share a few highlights 48 hours in and as the week winds down:

 * 46 teams entered, 3 IDEAS and 43 Global Challenge
 * 84 judges have their reviews underway, about 35 online and 49 face to face
 * 6,535 visitors came to the site on April 6
 * 6800+ users are registered, with 2,107 votes cast
 * Indian Mobile Initiative, AQUA, and BodyNotes occupy the top slots with 259, 169, and 166 votes respectively

In addition to a spotlight 4/6, there’s been some good press too, thanks to a lot of support from the MIT News Office, Camilla, Kate, Alex, and Sneha:

 * Coverage of the launch (by Camilla): http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2011/vote-global-challenge.html
 * Coverage of Raj Shah’s visit (photos by Alex): http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2011/usaid-shah-event-0408.html
 *   Reflections on Raj Shah’s visit(by Sneha): http://studentlife.mit.edu/2011/04/Rajiv_Shah_visit

And a few external mentions that we know of:

 *   Bertelsmann-Stiftung’s “Future Challenges”: http://futurechallenges.org/web/guest/learn/globalization/article/-/articles/MIT+Global+Challenge
 * Peter Levine’s civic practices blog (with solid mentions of Amos): http://www.peterlevine.ws/mt/archives/2011/04/the-mit-global.html

Tons in the offing, mostly around May 2 preparation, but a few other things as well. Next week Kate will be in MN; we’ll have some students pitching via Skype. A possible HuffPost piece by our Keynote Aktar Badshah.

Kate, what am I missing?
