Greetings all, and welcome to our new academic year.

I'm happy to say that the School's mission of education, research, and
service is flourishing - growing in scope and significance, with impact
across the globe.

It is the enduring strengths of our disciplines - and our extraordinary
community - that make this possible, and I applaud everyone in the School
for being part of a remarkable and purposeful endeavor.

We know the world is ever-changing. In the humanities, arts, and social
sciences, we are the inheritors â and the inventors - of tools and
traditions to help guide that change, increasing the human chances for
wisdom, well-being, and success.
