[Editors] Professional conferences in sci/eng disciplines?

Hi Everybody!

I am working to compile a list of the top technical conferences for  
different scientific/engineering disciplines. I thought many of you  
would be great resources to that end. So: please feel free to send me  
a list of the top 1-3 technical conferences attended by faculty in  
your respective areas every year and, if possible, when they take  
place. For example, the American Geophysical Union attracts many  
researchers in earth, atmospheric, and planetary sciences, and I know  
that its fall meeting is taking place next month.
