Dear colleagues,
If you have ever been curious to know how paper is made, you can now
take an up-close and personal look! Join us on Friday June 20 for a
tour of the Mohawk Paper Mills in Cohoes, New York, near Albany.
You'll see how paper is made, from pulp to manufacturing to
finishing, and you'll learn about the environmental considerations
that go into the manufacturing process. Melissa Stevens of Mohawk
Papers, who recently spoke at our green publishing seminar in March,
will host us for the day.
Date: Friday, June 20
Time: 8:00am - 5:00pm
Transportation: A van will pick attendees up at a central campus
location at 8 a.m., and we'll return by 5 p.m.
RSVP to Bara Blender at bblender at mit.edu by Friday, June 13 if you
would like to join us. We have 8 spaces remaining.
Headquartered in Cohoes, New York, Mohawk Fine Papers Inc. is known
for innovation, service and quality. Mohawk is also known in the
industry for its high environmental standards and sustainable practices.
