[Editors] press release - institute guidelines

Annika,

There are Institute guidelines in the Policies and Procedures manual 
that govern the use of MIT's name. 
http://web.mit.edu/policies/12.0.html  Press releases about MIT 
issued jointly with a corporation or by a corporation or funder need 
to follow those guidelines. The News Office has the authority to 
approve those releases; that's one of my responsibilities. So, if it 
is that sort of release, please forward it directly to me.

If you are sending a release that is not being driven by an outside 
entity, it's still a good idea to work with the News Office. For 
that, I recommend you contact Kathryn O'Neill, the news manager in 
the News Office at kathryno at mit.edu
