Electronic Media Specialist: Web Master needed by the MIT Sea Grant 
College Program to be responsible for the program's web site 
development and maintenance. This work will include the development 
of web-based marine science education tools and other multimedia 
features.

Requirements: Expert computer proficiency (Macintosh preferred); 
experience creating, designing, and maintaining web pages; a good 
knowledge of HTML and CSS coding and familiarity with leading design 
tools; experience with Java and database technologies desirable; 
experience with image processing, scanning,  audio and video content, 
Photoshop, FileMaker Pro, Dreamweaver, Adobe Illustrator, PhotoShop, 
iPhoto and Acrobat, Illustrator, FileMaker, Excel, and PowerPoint. 
Experience with print design and production desirable.

MIT Sea Grant is part of the National Sea Grant Program, which works 
to ensure the preservation and wise use of the nation's coastal and 
marine resources. The Electronic Media Specialist will: update and 
maintain the program's web site and associated web sites; develop 
web-based educational programs; utilize audio, video or CD-ROM in 
creating innovative products for various audiences; design and 
develop exhibit displays; acquire and maintain web-accessible 
archival information; and assist in the development of a photographic 
database.

Position calls for a motivated, creative individual with strong 
organizational and communication skills. The ideal candidate should 
enjoy multitasking, be able to work both independently and with 
others, and be able to communicate scientific, marine-related 
material to a lay audience. Experience with marine-related issues or 
scientific publications/organizations desirable. Candidate should 
have at least two years experience in web design.
