Editors,
What could a team of high school students invent? 10 high school 
invention teams nationwide - all Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams - will be at 
MIT next Friday and Saturday to showcase their inventions, and we 
invite you to attend this showcase.

About Lemelson-MIT Inventeams
Lemelson-MIT InvenTeams is a new initiative that provides grants to 
teams of high school students to invent something useful that solves 
a problem they've identified. 2004 was our first year as a national 
program. Ten teams from private, public and vocational schools 
representing eight states and impacting more than 180 students were 
awarded up to $10,000. These InvenTeams have spent the past seven 
months working on inventions including inspection-friendly luggage, 
several assistive devices for the disabled and elderly, a pothole 
detection and filling device, a remote-controlled helicopter for 
avalanche hazard detection and mitigation, and solar-powered water 
sensors. The June InvenTeams Showcase is their opportunity to present 
their inventions and meet one another.
