[Editors] authentic old computer

This picture was taken at the Computer History Museum in
southern California almost two years ago. The sleek and streamlined
orange kitchen computer was supposed to simplify the housewife's meal
planning and cooking (even though the computer never learned to slice
onions or boil eggs). Apparently Honeywell didn't sell a single unit,
because they cost $10,000 in 1969 dollars, had few functions,
occupied a big chunk of kitchen space, and probably clashed with
harvest gold and avocado green appliances. In addition, they were
user-hostile and complex, while being marketed to women who generally
had been shunted away from learning science and technology.
