2. Software Release Projects Underway

Mobile Devices, FileMaker Pro 9 and Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) are a  
small sampling of current software release projects underway.  For  
more information on these and other software release projects

3. Volume & Site License Software Update
-------------------------------------------------------
Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional is now available for download.  Please  
only order licenses for machines on which you will actually use  
Acrobat Pro as we have a limited number of licenses available for  
MIT.  For more information on alternatives to Acrobat Pro and how to  
obtain, please go to the following site:

We are currently processing orders for FileMaker 9 (Professional,  
Professional Advanced, Server, and Server Advanced).  An order  
processing fee of $100 now applies to all new FileMaker 9  
departmental orders regardless of how many licenses you order.  This  
fee covers the costs associated with distributing FileMaker 9.   
License costs are still paid for by IS&T.  As a comparison, the  
academic pricing for a single FileMaker Pro 9 license is $160 if  
purchased from GovConnection.

4.  Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
IS&T recommends users configure their Windows machines to use MIT's  
Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS) for critical patches and  
service pack deployment.

IS&T is negotiating an SPSS Windows license for the campus.  For more  
information, contact vsls at mit.edu.  We are also in the process of  
centralizing distribution for AutoDesk and STATA products and expect  
to have these services available in the near future from the VSLS site:
