Subject: [edtech] Invitation to submit nomincations for Steven Wade
	Neiterman Award

I am writing to call your attention to the nomination process for the 2007
Steven Wade Neiterman Award.  Since 2002, this award has been presented
annually to one or two individuals working anywhere at MIT in an information
technology capacity. (See http://web.mit.edu/ist/wadeaward/.)

Any member of the MIT community may nominate an IT colleague.  Nominees can
be anyone with a part-to-full time MIT appointment who devotes at least 50%
effort to providing IT services (IS&T directors and members of the
nominating committee excluded).

Steven Wade Neiterman worked at MIT for 11 years and was a beloved member of
the IT community on campus.  His work and life exemplified many excellent
qualities and it is these that we look for in making this award.  Nominees
for the award should consistently demonstrate the following in their
professional and personal life:

o collaborative problem solving
o coaching colleagues
o team building
o creating community
o sharing knowledge
o getting things done, and
o commitment to MIT

Nominations may be completed on-line (http://web.mit.edu/ist/wadeaward/)
where you will also find more information about Steve and the Neiterman
Award.  Alternatively, nominations may be submitted on paper through the
campus mail (c/o Office of the Vice President for Information Services and
Technology, Room 10-219, MIT). Nominations must be received no later than
midnight Monday, July 23, 2007.

The Neiterman Award winners will be announced at a special awards ceremony
in September.  Presentation of the $1000 award per recipient will be made at
that time.  Inquiries may be directed to neiterman-award at mit.edu.

3. A reminder:  Time to Renew Personal Web Certificates

MIT's personal Web certificates will soon require renewal. Certificates
obtained in the past year are set to expire on July 31, 2007.

--------------------------------------------------------------
Matlab license distribution for 2007-2008 has been delayed by 3 weeks.  We
apologize for the delay.  Existing Matlab licenses will continue to work
until July 31, 2007.  We will post updated pricing, begin accepting and
processing orders on July 9, 2007 (or sooner if we can).

Mathematica (version 6) annual licenses can now be purchased through
GovConnection for the 2007-2008 Academic Year.
