Volume & Site License Software Update -------------------------------------------------------------- Microsoft has revised the Campus Agreement offering for Windows Servers. The enhanced agreement allows us to declare the number of servers requiring licenses. The pricing is extremely attractive and ensure future releases and software assurance. IS&T needs to hear from Departments, Labs and Centers wishing to join the Campus Agreement for MS Office and/or participating in the server agreement by this Friday, May 5th. Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS) ----------------------------------------------------------------------- We recommend users configure their Windows machines to use MIT's Windows Automatic Update Service (WAUS) for critical patches and service pack deployment. WSUS is here. MIT WAUS now deploys updates for Microsoft Office products.Check the Approved Updates page for details regarding deployed packages. WSUS also adds support for 64-bit Microsoft Windows operating systems. We hope that all of you can attend. See you Friday, Greg --------------------- The Neiterman Selection Committee would like to invite you to join your colleagues for the Steven Wade Neiterman 2006 Award ceremony this coming Friday, May 5, 2006 beginning at 3:00 pm at the MIT Baseball field on Briggs Field. Please come to welcome and celebrate the recipients of the 2006 Neiterman Award! The Award presentation will take place prior to the MIT Varsity Baseball Game scheduled to begin at 3:30. We will serve festive fare - hot dogs, popcorn, etc. available. In order not to delay the game, please arrive promptly at 3 so that we can complete the Award presentation before the first pitch at 3:30. In case of rain, the location will be the patio-like section just outside the Johnston Athletic Building. This is the large area that is covered by the building's second floor over hang.
